Pokémon Current shiny hunts?

Currently on a mission to hatch comp shinies in bank balls. Just finished my Vulpix in Moon Ball project and working on Ponyta in a Moon Ball, for lovely matching blues.

Took a break from SR'ing for shiny Lugia and managed to catch Landorus instead. Next I'll go back to hatching Petilil and try again for Lugia after.

I heard safari has a higher shiny rate than the wild but I also heard it might only be certain safaris with a higher shiny rate. Is it true?

It is a commonly accepted theory that all friend safaris have a fixed shiny encounter rate of 1/512, regardless if the player has the Shiny Charm or not. http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/data-on-the-friend-safari-shiny-rate.3502279/

RNG is still RNG though. Masuda Method w/ Shiny Charm has the same estimated encounter rate as Friend Safaris at 1/512, and I've personally had hunts that lasted as long as ~1800 something eggs while my quickest hunt literally produced me a shiny in just 7 eggs.

So with enough patience (and television) I managed to find this in the friend safari!

I was watching netflix while hunting so I didn't hear the sparkle but as soon as I looked down I saw it's eyes and I was like "HOLY CRAP!"

ALSO, IT'S A MODEST NATURE!

Next hunt: Shiny Phantump!

Thanks! I added my brother's code and he had both Phantump and Lampent in it so my plan was to look for one and breed for the other. Step 1 has been completed, now for step 2!

Urgh, I have terrible luck with friend safari. I once found a shiny oddish (while looking for petilil) and a shiny breloom (while looking for pancham). I gave up looking for shiny pumpkaboo and hatched one using my usual MM + shiny charm in 22 eggs. I have better luck with that, so I rarely use friend safari for shinies.

I don't really hunt for shinies, I breed for them because of Nature and IV nonsense.

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but it's better to tell you now than never...

Groudon is a shiny-locked Pokemon in OR. Meaning that now matter how many times you soft-reset for it, the game was programmed to make sure that specific Pokemon will never turn up shiny. The same thing applies to Kyogre, Rayquaza and Deoxys; as well as Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos and Mewtwo in XY. The only way to get any of those Pokemon in their shiny form is through soft resetting for them in an older game; or through trading people who obtained them from said games or received them from older events. Coincidentally, all of the Pokemon I mentioned can be caught in their shiny form in Heart Gold and Soul Silver.

So I just got off hiatus from shiny hunting and I just hatched my fourth shiny Espurr @74 eggs... Since hiatus anyways. All in all it is actually 2,474 eggs I believe. Since literally none of the shinies hatched with their HA I figured I'd just keep the female Espurr I just hatched and the male Espurr I hatched before I took hiatus. Still have no idea what to name these two even after hunting for them off and on for four months though lol

Been picking back up on SR Reshiram in ORAS, going to give up soon though since need to start getting ready for my summer course :/. Only legend I SR before was Ho-Oh also in OR.
