About the Challenge

This ?challenge? is obviously for fun and is an amusing way for me to decide which couples will have a common house in my themed town of Hearts. As you know, New Leaf only allows the creation of four player houses. The first house will be Mayor Cupid?s, and I decided to host this little contest between the couples to see who will will the remaining three. Of course, the winning couples will not actually ?move into? their new house, but they will be decorated with furniture they like as well as pictures of themselves and their children!

To make things more interesting, I decided to make each house a different size. I do not actually have ?budget restrictions? for my town, but I like to pretend Mayor Cupid is not able to afford mansions for everyone. This is why she has created this contest, which will last seven days.

Spoiler: Rules

There are only two important rules to keep in mind when you vote:

- Vote only according to the day?s challenge.
Please do not vote for your favorite couple, or for the couple that you would like to see win the whole challenge, or the results will not be accurate. Every day, a specific question will be asked, and you should try to answer it by voting and discussing in the topic.

- Vote for a maximum of two couples.
You may vote for one or two couples you think would win the day?s challenge, but not more. If you do, I won?t be able to count your votes for that day. If you accidently voted for more than two winners, don?t worry, you may simply reply to the topic to change your vote.

Spoiler: Prizes

The Marvelous Mansion will be awarded to the couple who has the most votes at the end of the challenge. Nook himself describes it as ?the best house a family could dream of, yes, yes!?. In addition to its two stories, it has a basement that can be used for storage. The ground floor has been expanded to add three spacious rooms that can be decorated to the couple?s liking.

The Honeymoon House is the runner-up prize for the challenge. Although not as gigantic as the mansion, it has more than enough space for a couple. ?If I wasn?t so rich, I would find it quite comfortable!? Nook jokingly explains. The house boasts three large rooms: the main room on the ground floor, a smaller children?s room at the back and a nice bedroom on the second floor.

The Regular Residence is the final prize that will be awarded as part of the contest. Due to budget restrictions, only three couples will be awarded houses, and the remaining two will have to move in together at a later date. While it is a bit on the small side, this house is better than nothing, as Nook mentionned during an interview ?Oh ho, I would say it is at least better than a tent!? The couple will only have one room to decorate, and it is no larger than their individual homes.

I think Marshal and Poppy's fit together nicely because they both require math.
Punchy and Rosie's go together a little because they can have late night karaoke parties together, and that sounds adorable :3

None of the others make sense at all.

Also, mental math can't be bad for making budgets right?

But my absolut favourite here are the deer. If your wife's special talent and hobby is writing about pickles it is really important that you can stay awake, even while reading the most boring stuff. Now I get why they are a couple, everyone else probably fell asleep reading her stories and Diana doesn't seem like she would appreciate that at all.
But then there was Beau. He didn't seem like he was the right man for her, he seemed lazy and took things way too easy, he just talked about food and seemed kinda childish. Still she gave him one of her stories to read because he asked for it. 'The radical pickle of freedom'. She didn't expect much but the next day Beau told her how much he liked it and how great she could write from the point of view of a pickle. She was surprised ' You didn't fall asleep?' 'Oh, no, I like to stay up all night and read stories about pickles!! I also put a sign on my door that says I'm sleeping, because I don't want the mayor to disturb me while I read about pickles.' From that moment on Diana knew it was love and they lived happily ever after.
(I should really go to bed, sorry)

I love all the stories everyone makes up about the couples.
They're always either adorable, funny, or in this case, both.

Oh my gosh that was totally amazing!!! Why can't I like this post more than once?

Diana does have a strange hobby. Next time someone asks me why they are together, I think I'll just refer them to this post.

Neither, they are very happy! Honestly they were the couple that I thought fit together the least out of all but now they're kinda my favorite xD They're just extremely different but still found the one thing they both love: pickles. Diana loves to write about them and Beau likes to eat them and to stay awake to read the stories.
Sure they probably fight a lot. Diana then probably says 'Oh, you think you're so chill, MAYOR PICKLE!!' and then they both have to laugh so much they stop fighting.
They're the couple everyone whispers about 'How did THOSE TWO end up together?!' and they will just look at each other and smile because they will never tell anyone but they know the answer. It all started with pickles.

(Honestly I never liked Diana but that talent makes her so much more likable xD)

I've always shipped Diana&Beau, and this just makes me fangirl over them. Although they don't have much in common, they're still a really cute couple. I have Diana and Beau in my 2nd town, and Beau always talks abut Diana and it makes me go 'awww' every single time, even if he's just talking about Diana saying his catchphrase is weird or something like that.
