About the Challenge

Spoiler: Explanation

This ?challenge? is obviously for fun and is an amusing way for me to decide which couples will have a common house in my themed town of Hearts. As you know, New Leaf only allows the creation of four player houses. The first house will be Mayor Cupid?s, and I decided to host this little contest between the couples to see who will will the remaining three. Of course, the winning couples will not actually ?move into? their new house, but they will be decorated with furniture they like as well as pictures of themselves and their children!

To make things more interesting, I decided to make each house a different size. I do not actually have ?budget restrictions? for my town, but I like to pretend Mayor Cupid is not able to afford mansions for everyone. This is why she has created this contest, which will last seven days.

Spoiler: Rules

There are only two important rules to keep in mind when you vote:

- Vote only according to the day?s challenge.
Please do not vote for your favorite couple, or for the couple that you would like to see win the whole challenge, or the results will not be accurate. Every day, a specific question will be asked, and you should try to answer it by voting and discussing in the topic.

- Vote for a maximum of two couples.
You may vote for one or two couples you think would win the day?s challenge, but not more. If you do, I won?t be able to count your votes for that day. If you accidently voted for more than two winners, don?t worry, you may simply reply to the topic to change your vote.

Spoiler: Prizes

The Marvelous Mansion will be awarded to the couple who has the most votes at the end of the challenge. Nook himself describes it as ?the best house a family could dream of, yes, yes!?. In addition to its two stories, it has a basement that can be used for storage. The ground floor has been expanded to add three spacious rooms that can be decorated to the couple?s liking.

The Honeymoon House is the runner-up prize for the challenge. Although not as gigantic as the mansion, it has more than enough space for a couple. ?If I wasn?t so rich, I would find it quite comfortable!? Nook jokingly explains. The house boasts three large rooms: the main room on the ground floor, a smaller children?s room at the back and a nice bedroom on the second floor.

The Regular Residence is the final prize that will be awarded as part of the contest. Due to budget restrictions, only three couples will be awarded houses, and the remaining two will have to move in together at a later date. While it is a bit on the small side, this house is better than nothing, as Nook mentionned during an interview ?Oh ho, I would say it is at least better than a tent!? The couple will only have one room to decorate, and it is no larger than their individual homes.

Definitely Savannah and Papi are the only logical ones that fit. All the others are either exact opposites, or don't go well.

Yeah, I think the peppy or snooty girls would eventually go crazy with a lazy boyfriend. Diana would probably boss Beau around and Rosie would shake Punchy awake. I don't think the guys would appreciate it either XD

Yeah, they do seem to get along well

I'm wondering if the crankies would not be annoyed by all the snootiness after a while though. They don't seem to care much about gossiping. But out of all the snooties, Whitney doesn't seem to be that bad in my opinion, perhaps because she was much sweeter in the movie ^^

I think you have it mixed up when it comes to Diana and Beau. Diana is a Snooty villager, if we would be pairing her up with another deer it should be Zell. Smug villagers arguably make good pairings with Snooty villagers due to their gentleman and classy like behavior.

As for Beau, I picture him with someone like Fauna. As a normal typed villager, they have a deep love for cooking which would compliment the Lazy's villagers love for food. You need to consider what the villager personality is like, but also what their type's activities are.

Normal and lazy or smug, I think normal females would be easy-going and allow their man to be lazy, but they would also enjoy being treated well by a smug. The other personality combinations would clash more, in my opinion.

My favorite combos are cranky x peppy, smug x peppy and uchi x cranky, since there is none of those I go with normal x smug, Poppy & Marshal.

I think that's very true! I didn't actually choose the couples myself (they were voted), and I actually like the Diana x Beau pairing for other reasons (such as their looks), but I think that yes, Diana would probably get annoyed with Beau. I unfortunately don't have a smug / snooty pairing, and I think that would be a great match also.

I would have liked to see Fauna with Beau also, I think she would be more tolerant of his laziness, like Savannah with Papi :3 I had never noticed how much the normal villagers liked to cook, but you're right, they always seem to mention that in their conversations! I think Papi will be in heaven

Normal villagers do seem to make great girlfriends, don't they? They're relaxed, open minded and love to cook! I think they would go well with every personality, well, except maybe jocks, since they would always be obsessed with sports >.<

(with the stove off, thankfully) savannah wakes up, brings papi back to bed and finishes making the breakfast.

I voted for normal-smug and normal-lazy. I just think the normal personalities would probably fit best with the others. In the other combos, I think their personality types are too different and would clash too much.

Oh my gosh those stories are fantastic I'm SURE that would happen!

If you got anymore, feel free to share, I love imagining stuff like that too ^.^ If I could, I'd write some on the Bulletin Board so people can read them when they visit the dream town, but I don't think visitors have access to the posts on the bulletin board.
