Do you collect crystals? If you do, what crystals do you have? Which one is your favorite?

I have amythest, pyrite, a geo, tiger eye, quartz, citrine, carnelian, and topaz.

I don't possess any minerals or gems, but this is an interesting subject. Rock on!

No really, I meant rock as in mineral or gem. But I am interested into rocks and minerals.

Yes! I've always been into geology and gemology and have a TON of cool specimens; far too may to appropriately list. My most recent purchases include a huge (over 20CT) rough cut Australian fairy opal and a cluster of cerussite with orange barite crystals - which is fluorescent and really pretty to look at. I've been considering buying a karpatite specimen for a while now, but I want one that's covered in quartz which drives the price up like crazy. Digging around for fossils at local gravel pits is also fun and I try to go at least a few times every summer... gotta nerd it up in my free time.

So yes, I really like rocks. :D

That sounds cool. :) May I ask what country you live in? There aren't any gravel pits here. .-.

I'm in the Midwestern United States, and there's one pretty sizable gravel pit that's maybe a 5-10 minute drive from my house. I know the mountainous states have some amazing gravel pits, as I have a friend in Utah who seems to find cool rocks on at least a weekly basis. If I wasn't so drawn to the West Coast I'd probably spend some vacation time over there just to see what I could find. -_-

I am the rock queen, I have many many many many many many many many many rocks and gems and minerals. So many that I hand typed the many's not just copy pasted them. Dedication to rocks.

I go rock-hounding a lot around the rivers and lakes where I live, the river is my favorite, we have a lot of jasper and quartz naturally around here, as well as these green and black striated rocks that i have fallen in love with but don't know the name of. We also have these cool volcanic diamonds called "Lake County Diamonds" or "moon tears" which I find a lot of and have several large jars full of them.

I buy a lot of interesting specimens too, and I buy bulk rough of different kinds of stones to tumble or cut. I have a rotary and a vibratory tumbler as well as a Jool Tool for cabbing, cutting, and polishing stones for jewelry and stuff.

I always carry a hematite and tiger's eye stone heart in a little satchel in my bag, it is to draw in good energy, block the bad, and to bring me good luck, I do believe it works for me and often mess with them when I am feeling stressed and it helps a lot, kind of like a worry stone. I've also done a fair share of gold mining and found diamonds, garnets, turquoise, and of course gold.

My favorite stone is labradorite, I can't get over that rainbow flash, ever. I also get really amazing vibes from it. Also luckily I bought a pound of labradorite rough, and they accidentally sent me three instead and it was the best thing ever! I have a LOT of different specimens of labradorite.

(snip)I really like rocks. :D

Let's be rock homies.

I love Agate slices and generally pretty stones. I have two beautiful blue agate slices, a nice rock that changes color depending on the lighting (can someone name this? It's black and very smooth, and it shimmers many colors in the light!) and an amethyst rock.

total nerd when it comes to geology
i really loved it when i was 10 or something, bought a trillion gem books and little gemstones, mainly heaps of amethyst since its my birthstone.. i was real obesessed with them~ also had pyrite, rose quartz, tigers eye, smoky quartz, jade, opal, garnet.... mainly cheap ones since that was all i could afford on a 10 year old budget~~

when i was about 4 or 5 i used to collect rocks down the street
if it looked nice, i keep it lol

i dont collect anymore but i totally would if i had resources/money.

I used to collect gemstones and crystals when I was a kid. I had a huge collection of them, and even used it for my hobby fair. I don't collect them anymore, but I still have my collection in a box.

I do love having gemstones and crystals in my jewelry though. I have a lot of opal pieces because it's my birthstone, but I also am in love with jade and garnet pieces. Someday, I will own a piece of alexandrite, hopefully as a stone in a ring because I think it's an amazing stone.

That sounds like labradorite! Is it kind of a greyish black? And then in the light it "flashes" with different colors like blues greens and purples mostly?

It's the best rock ever!

Also super ironically, a lady I talk to a lot who comes to casino just came up to me and started talking about rocks? Like wtf how did she know?!

Maybe she just likes rocks and wanted to talk about rocks to someone, and ironically you liked rocks too?
Yes, it is one of the best rocks!
