Crossbreeding Flowers Thread

All of my crossbreeding attempts just turned into primary colored flowers. (got some yellow tulips from my red/yellow tulip mix and some white roses from my red/white rose breeding) I'm gonna fill the place with blue pansies once I can get my hands on enough white ones to breed. :D

I got a couple Orange Pansies this morning! ^_^

I am thinking I'm just going to get one of each color Tulips & Cosmos for an extra Museum room...then remove the rest from my town. >.< I don't like them as much, and that way I'll have more room for the flowers I DO like! <3

Question: is this like farming where the flowers will grow again, & thus allowing you to sell them?

So far I have orange pansies and 2 orange cosmos. Ughhh, I hope the gardening store opens soon, I need more flowers STAT. :p

You could do this with flowers, but really they don't sell for enough to make it very worth it, I think. Maybe gold roses, but who wants to waste thier time with that? :p

So, this is more like a specialist hobbie where the in game store will not recognize the monetary value of birthing rare flowers- but for players looking to buy, it's quite the opposite right?

You could certainly sell hybrid flowers to other players. There's actually a forum member who has a "hybrid shop" going on I think. (Maybe you could give them a bit of competition and offer slightly better deals!) But that's something I honestly wouldn't even bother spending my time doing. In order to make a legitimate business of it, you'd probably have to be time traveling to have any sort of significant number of hybrids in stock to meet demand; a demand that honestly probably isn't extremely high in the first place.

Thanks for the explanation!

I've begun making my flower plots. Should be able to get pink/orange roses, tulips, cosmos' and pansies in the next few days if all goes as planned.
