Crazy Redd don't like me.

It's been over a month now and EVERY single artwork I have bought from Redd are all fake. It's really annoying that I can only buy one painting or sculpture and have him mail it to me the next day. Then when I hand it over to Blathers it's always the same reaction. I really want just 1 artwork so I can get my hands on silver tools, second floor museum, and the Cafe... oh god how I want that cafe.
Is there an easier way to do this without time traveling? Even the artwork I get from some villagers are fakes! HALP!

Villagers don't always sell fakes. I have 2 villagers that always sell me real ones when they offer (Blanche and Henry). I have 2 others that always sell me fakes (Fang and Frita... especially Fang!). I don't know if it's personality based or what. But either way, it's hit and miss buying from villagers since you don't get to see the art before you buy. I usually buy just because it has been helping me fill out my museum faster. Redd doesn't always show up every week, so if you wait for him, it can be slow. Especially because he may sell the same real one this week that he sold last week.

They will ask you to buy it from them, saying a crazy fox made them buy it... I've only been offered once though.

How do you buy artworks from villagers?

They will come up to you and ask you if you want to buy. Fang always tells me it may be fake so I never buy from villagers.
I also think Flo sells them as a fake since she prices them at 7,000 bells.

Eugene occasionally offers to sell me a painting at a huge markup, then gives it to me for free when I agree. It is usually real, too.

Redd had the exact same real painting the last three times he came to my town. I've only got about four in the museum because of this.
