Crazy Coincidence? Surprising Villager Behaviors...

I’ve been terraforming the past few days around my island and my villagers keep walking about while I’m working and looking at me. When I talk to them they mention I’ve been working a lot around the island and they can’t wait to see what I come up with. But that’s not what surprised me. So, during the whole process I was prepping areas where I would move my villagers houses. One of them being Marshal’s. I’ve been doing his place for the last two days and I noticed he’s always around that specific area. I haven’t put down his plot yet and haven’t requested him to move but he’s just always there now. He’s never hang out there prior to this. Just today I’ve put out the DJ’s turntable near his future plot since I know he likes music. I played Bubblegum KK there in the empty lot and forgot about it while I worked on other areas in the island. After a while, Marshal showed up in the plaza and started singing Bubblegum KK! It’s the first time he sang this particular song and I’m baffled because the plaza is a long way from the plot of land I prepped for him. He’s been hanging out there again to pick up on the song. It’s like HE KNOWS where I’m moving him and HE APPROVES. It’s weird. It may just be coincidence but I just find it entertaining.

Makes me think how smart the AI is in this game...I wonder to what extent the villagers know and can do still in the future. Any similar stories? Have you ever been surprised by any villager behaviors? I’d love to hear your stories!

Villagers can pick up on songs from surprisingly far away! I was doing something similar with Colton's house. I was preparing his new spot up on one of my cliffs and I placed a retro stereo up there by his poolside deck, and he and just about every other villager on the island could hear K.K. Love Song playing all the way from the plaza. Pretty cool!

They always talk about things you were doing the day before. If you host many players, they will comment on that saying the island was full of new faces. If you take a lot of time placing paths down, they will comment on it too. It's cool because they can "observe" what you're doing, and multiple villagers will talk about your activities instead of being just one comment about one activity you did on the previous day.
