Could you adopt a new villager on the same day a moving villager has been adopted?

I have a villager moving tomorrow (the 29th), and I'm thinking of adopting a new villager to replace her. Would I have to wait until the 30th to do so?

Hello there! iirc when they are in boxes (in your case, tomorrow the 29th), the town still sees them as a current resident,
and you won't be able to invite anyone in, unless you are asking Wisp with amiibo card to move them out ^^;;

To have an actual free spot available for a new villager, the moved out villager's house have to be physically gone.
(say, just a bald area that they left behind)

So yes, it will have to be the 30th. Hope this helps! C:

Idk, when I was transferring Wolfgang and Tutu from New Town to Treehut, I had both animals in both towns in boxes, so Tutu was in boxes in NT and someone else was in boxes in Treehut. I've successfully transferred both to my town, even while the other animal was in boxes.

However there was one time a while ago, Hopper was in Moriyo and I wanted someone from New Town to move to Moriyo. That animal in New Town wasn't asking to move in Moriyo, so I went back then changed it to the next day, Hopper is gone now, went back to New Town and that animal moved in Moriyo.

So I think it actually depends on how many animals you have in town. If you have a full 10, then maybe you can't ask another animal from another town to move in, but if you have 8, then you can, even if they are in boxes. Not sure about 9.

^ What Stella-Io said! ^
At 8-9 villagers, you can definitely ask a new one to move in, but when you are at 10, then probably not.

My mistake at assuming you have a full town of 10 villagers,
as that's what I have in my towns, most of the time XD

Thank you Stello-Io for the correction! ^^

Ahh very good point, I forgot about that! I do have 10 villagers, so I'm glad I at least checked, but thanks so much for covering it all for future reference! <3
