Could I please visit someone's town to get signatures?

If anyone is available one of my villagers (Tipper) is doing that thing where she needs signatures on a petition and I have to go to another village to talk to the villagers. I wouldn't run, or take anything and would leave a tip if somebody was nice enough to let me swing by.
