Actually, this is the internet. Things are different. In a formal debate, I'd agree. Although there are certain parts of effective argument that apply to the internet, not insulting people is not one of them. I want them to FEEEEEL their wrongness.

But there is one insult that can win you an argument; the truth. And since it's the truth, it's not really an insult, but it can sure sound like one if the facts are against the person you're arguing with.

If you don't think I was consistent, please PM me and ]I'm not talking about any specific circumstances, I haven't even been here 24 hours. But what I'm saying is that the warn you gave me was for "flaming" yet I was actually commending Sheldon on his unstoppable optimism. The imagery may have been strange, but its intent was not malicious, and for all you know it may not have been interpreted that way. What I'm saying is that my brand of "insults" as you call them are not nearly as pernicious as allowing a willfully ignorant element of your userbase to be unconditionally protected from anything that might make them a little sad. Forums provide a place for people to grow and learn how to communicate with others with the written word, as well as exposes them to a wide range of ideas and people. If you really think that you're doing people a favor by censoring anything that may be construed as mean, especially considering the content of most website on the internet, then you're out of your mind. When was the last time your forums had a thread with discussion this deep?

Second of all, obviously you don't know anything about the Health Care bill or the passing...

The Health Care bill was passed, yes, even though 70% of Americans said they didn't want it. Well did you know that now that it's in "passing" they are going through it and making changes to better please the people of America. And I don't know if you've forgotten but those people who passed the bill have their tails between their legs, because their up for re-election pretty soon. So, before you go off about how President Obama is a horrible president or how he hasn't done anything or go on ranting and raving about this health care bill. Get your facts straight.
