Well, I'm considering restarting for the first time. I've been playing the game for about a month now, and there are some mistakes I've made that have been bothering me (building placement, town layout, etc.). I love the thought of having a fresh start, but I'm also worried about a few things and everything I would lose. Thoughts?

Reasons I want to restart:
- Don't like the placement of the police station
- Don't like the placement of the cafe
- Don't like the placement of the reset center
- Don't like the placement of the campsite
- Don't like the town layout

Reasons for not restarting:
- I like about half of my villagers and wouldn't want them to disappear (Fauna, Shep, Shari, Peanut, Mac. I also have Marina, who I was going to sell)
- I'd lose the store upgrades, PWPs and museum donations
- All the badges I've earned and things I've caught would be gone
- All my bells and items would be gone

So have any of you restarted? Was it worth it or do you regret doing it? Not sure what to do here.

Town layout and the placement of permanent PWPs are things you can only change by resetting.

There are plenty of people on the forums who are willing to hold bells/items/villagers for you, so really the only things you'd be losing are store upgrades/PWPs/badges/donations.

I guess it depends on how much the permanent fixtures bother you. o:

A bonus to resetting: if you have other people hold your villagers for you and then you invite them to live in your new town, you can do the plot reset trick to choose where they put all of their houses! Much better for town planning, if you happen to have an idea of how you want things to look~

From where I'm standing, all your reasons for not restarting can easily be got back over time... but all your reasons for restarting will be there forever and you'll have to deal with them.

It's up to you though :)

I would restart personally. I had a town with all of my dreamies, the biggest house and the upgrades but I still restarted. It is nice having a fresh start. ^-^

My resetting tips:

Got a few villagers you want to keep? Keep all the ones you want to keep but leave out one. You can get them possibly while you reset.

Sell Marina. You can use the profit to start off your new town.

Get people to hold your stuff.

Trust me, resetting is worth it. I restarted January 2nd of this year and I have accomplished 8 dream villagers and an almost perfect town :3

Seriously, if you can give up all the hard work of earning badges, catching fish/bugs for museum etc then do it. If in the least bit scared give up a guilty pleasure like Starbucks or something for a week or so and buy an extra game cartridge. JMHO

Eh, I've decided I'm going to restart. Like LilyElizabeth said, I can just get those things back over time. Thank you everyone for the help! Now I just need to find someone to hold my items ^_^

aside from the town map. all those placements are all your fault. what's to keep you from making more bad placements? you better do it right this time!

xD You decided to restart, so don't read my ramblings. I'll hold your items on my mule character? :)

That's perfect! Thank you so much :) (Just please don't steal, haha) Tell me when your ready
I won't, don't worry! Just dump the stuff on train station and plaza. Gates are open, and I'm on my mule Beth. When you're done, feel free to just leave :)

~sorry 'bout delay, had to get TPC pic~
