Connection Error

Hi, I don't know where else to go with this but I keep getting the Error Code 018-0512. I can't really connect with anyone at the moment. It sorta worked a few days ago when a friend visited me and I visited them and I also visited someone from gamesfaq but now it won't work. I used the search function and couldn't find anything and google isn't really helping either. Could anyone please help me?

That tends to happen to some of the people I know. What they do is close their gate, wait a minute or two then reopen them and it works perfectly. But if you tried that and still doesn't work, then idk ;-;

Well, at the moment our router isn't working so vodafone set up a mobile hotspot for me which I am currently using (it's just me) but as I said it worked with others so I'm really desperate to know why it won't work now
