"....." Marshal opened his eyes slowly to the sound of multiple knocks upon his door. He stared upon the door for a few seconds before pushing himself off of the chair he was sitting upon. He had been deep in thought for quite some time, keeping to himself though, as he always did. He approached the door before opening it slowly only to be greeted by a rather happy face. It was the Mayor. Marshal stared up upon her as his own small stature caused him to tilt his head upward to meet the face of the visitor, or any for that matter. The Mayor only continued to smile before then moving her hands from behind her back. Marshal blinked slightly and looked downward at the Mayor's hands as she held them in front of him. She Mayor was holding a present. 'A present?...' Marshal thought to himself in slight surprise, though kept his straight, unemotional expression as he looked back up upon the Mayor, who only continued to grin.
"... Happy Birthday, Marshal." She then whispered, which made Marshal's eyes slightly widen. 'She actually.. remembered?' He thought in shock, as no one had even spared him a statement on this day, his birthday. "Heh, Don't be shy... Open it up!" Her voice then arose, Marshal looking back to her swiftly as his gaze had wandered off to the side while he thought. "......" Marshal slowly reached out and took the present. It was a little heavy, though probably really light to anyone else as his tiny figure gave him such low capable strength. He slowly placed it down in front of him before pulling the ribbon off the top of the present and opening it up. "..." Marshal could not help but lowly blush as he stared down upon the gift. He swiftly looked back up to the Mayor, her giggling out softly before he looked back down. It was a ruby, carved into the shape of a heart. "... I hope you like it. I spend quite a while smoothing out the rough edges." She then laughed out. "Kinda like you..! Rough on the edges, but can be smoothed out in time... yeah?" She asked as she tilted her head faintly and smiled once again. Marshal continued to blush lowly before swiftly shaking of his flustered appearance. He slowly scooped up the gift, though held it rather closely up to him. "... Thank you." Marshal then muttered out, the Mayor looking down upon him before then slowly turning. "Heh.... Come over to my house for some cake later, 'Kay?" Before Marshal could say anything, she was off back into the crowd of the village. Marshal looked back down upon the ruby-shaped heart before suddenly, a very small smile curled his lips. "... Okay.."
(If it isn't clear, I'd love to receive Marshal <3 Thank you for doing something so generous!)
