So today I had Astrid come up to me and give me a bread box, then she said something along the lines that I should thank Penelope for it instead of her, he is such a nice friend. Astrid thinks Penelope is a boy. XD

Anyone else have a villager that was confused about another villager's gender?

I've seen this happen on occasion, and I've heard that it's merely a translation error in certain strings of texts that occurred when the game was translated from Japanese to English.

The best instance of this was when I moved a villager from one of my towns to another, and they started speaking about me one day. It went something like this: "I wonder how my old pal Vapor is doing. He really was a great friend." He. Like me, all of my mayors are female, so the pronoun ambiguity was... a bit odd. Either way, these little quirks only add to the charm of ACNL in my opinion. :)

It's just a weird translation thing with converting everything to English, which I'm not sure why they don't check for things like that? (Not like it's a big deal, but still. NL has some weird glitches.)

Yeah i have seen thiis once or twice. It does confuse me! But i guess there is a lot of dialogue to double check, ha, ha.

When my sister got Cally from me and everytime she was talking about my mayor, she said he and it was super disturbing :D

Oh thank goodnes. Everyone has been calling Cherry "he" despite my understanding that "she" was just a gothic girl or something.
