Hey,
so for a while I've been trying to get blue roses and lately purple pansies as well.

I know how it works for blue roses but I just haven't able to get one yet.

Though for purple pansies I have to say I am confused.
At first I tried to get blue ones (I didn't really know there were purple ones, I mean, at first I didn't plan to keep pansies in my town so I didn't really bother researching), so white+white,
and then I saw you could get purples by putting orange+blue or blue+red.

But today, I was playing on 5/11 since I couldn't play yesterday, watered pretty much every fields (I have A LOT, so many that they actually become random and messy x)), and moved some to my beach once again even though it's almost full, because I finally realized how annoying villagers were, and how tricky it can be to get specific hybrids because of them.

Anyway, just now I went back to 6/11 (today) and I noticed I had a purple pansy that had spawned in my red & white field. I didn't do anything except remove what the villagers put in the middle (as you can see I kinda arranged it with an X pattern & red ones around) and water them as usual.

As I said I'm not informed a lot on pansies so maybe this white+red scheme works too but what I found on internet was mostly orange+blue and blue+red.

So I'm guessing my question is, does this just simply work with white and red

I don't think the white pansies had anything to do with it. I think your purple pansy came from the two reds that are diagonal from each other. Purple pansies require special hybrid red or orange pansies that come from breeding a regular red or orange pansy with a blue pansy. Then, you can breed that special hybrid red or orange with a blue pansy to get purple, or you can breed two of the special hybrid reds and get purple.

I'm guessing those two red pansies probably each had a blue parent, thus they were able to produce a purple pansy.

I've bred many.

Get an orange pansy by breeding yellow and red pansies.

Get a blue pansy by breeding two white pansies.

Put a blue pansy and an orange pansy together, to get the hybrid red pansy.

When you have two, put them together, water them, and no other flowers, use fertilzer, and you will eventually get a purple pansy.

Once you have two, they breed very easily.

Remove any other red, blue, or orange pansies that come from the hybrid reds.

Remember the planting order!

Good luck. ^_^

The person above said it right! You need two hybrid red pansies, the two red pansies above must be hybrids, its the only way as far as I am aware, to get a purple pansies. And it takes a little while to breed them but they are pretty nice :D
