And yes, of course, I time-traveled to do it.
I did the one day forward, one day backwards method. I wanted to report back for those pondering doing it.
I normally don't TT at all. I have nothing against it, I did it heavily on NL. I chose not to TT on NH in hopes of not burning out and making the game last longer for myself.
But I got really sick of waiting and waiting for Redd to visit and I swear, most of the time he's giving me fakes. And that one portion of the museum being almost empty. So next time he was in town, I decided to do it!
It took me about 4 days of resetting (I played about 1-2 hours at night) to complete my art collection. (I had about 10 to start with.) It was truly a test of patience. There was a middle period where I kept getting the same fake and same real art over and over. Without some TV in the background, I would have died of boredom.
But it was weird, towards the end, even as there were times I was getting all 4 art I didn't need (fakes + genuine ones I already had), it was almost like the game wanted me to finish. It steadily started giving me the ones I needed, one at a time. For sure, it felt like fits and starts, but then a new genuine one would drop. I managed to get everything without trading. It felt like it couldn't have been true RNG because for example, getting that last one was a chance of 1/43 and it happened more quickly then I thought.
Another pattern I noticed was that the museum was filling out in a pattern. It was definitely not methodically because there was still art scattered randomly everywhere, but one section would completely finish, while the back was completely empty... and then the back would finish... then the side, etc. Maybe it was just my town, but I definitely saw a pattern.
Anyways, I post as an FYI. If I had let nature take it's course, I really think even in a year I would not have finished the art collection. That's too slow, even for me.
