Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? 'No!' says the man in Washington, 'It belongs to the poor!'. 'No!' says the man in the Vatican, 'It belongs to God!'. 'No!' says the man in Moscow, 'It belongs to everyone!'. I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something different. I CHOSE THE IMPOSSIBLE. I chose... RAPTURE!

When I started Rapture, I had a clear understanding of what I wanted: a wondrous place filled with happy people. After the departure of Lyman... I just don't know. I feel my village is slowly becoming a nice place, but in the end I think I am too close to it to see what needs to be changed.

To that end, I am inviting anyone interested to visit my town Rapture via dream to take a look around and hopefully provide me with some feedback on my town, my house, what you like and what you'd change if you could. Come marvel at my amazing town! Question my clashing architecture! Yell at me for letting the roses get out of hand! I'm looking for honest feedback in any way, shape or form on my town, and would appreciate any you could give me.

The dream address is 7300-2276-3994 and my mayor's name is Craig

If you do decide to take the time to visit, thank you very much. I await some honest feedback from you all!

Sorry this took so long, every time I felt like I had a spare moment to view the dream there seemed to be maintenance. Anyway, I am no expert by any means so please feel free to disregard anything I say. I am really glad that you gave some idea of what you're going for because that makes this a bit easier. Also, I feel like I should mention is that the weather is really dark and gloomy so the place didn't have a very happy atmosphere while I was there.

You've got some really nice stumps. Seeing a tri-force stump really makes me smile. I've seen some other players use their stumps to their advantage by making them parts of gardens or giving the idea that they are quiet, isolated places to think. I'd also recommend planting some more trees. Right now you have lots of big open spaces and it can feel a bit barren. Even some more colourful flowers would probably help in this regard.

I thought you did a really good job choosing public works projects to suit the idea that you're going for. The stone tablet and picnic areas are especially good choices. However, for some reason I was expecting more zen stuff rather than modern. Obviously the modern is your personal taste and there's nothing wrong with that, but it makes me question if I really know what you're going for.

I really liked the path you picked and thought it looked really good around the light house, but I wasn't really sure what was going on with Annicott's house. You have a big path around it and the garden, but I thought it was strange that you had to walk through flowers to reach the door. I think there should be a little bit of a path to the door so it doesn't feel like you're trampling the garden to get there. If you're not big on pattern paths you can use bushes to make a more natural path.

I love how there's a little bit of beach that you can only reach by swimming. I don't know what to do with an area like that. I've never noticed one before, but I feel like it has a ton of potential! Do something special with it :D

As for your house I liked your kitchen and thought combining creepy and rococo furniture was a neat idea!

Anyway it was well worth visiting because you had Maple and Olivia who were my besties in the game cube version. Hopefully Something I said was helpful. Have fun working on your town!

Thanks for coming, mate! I appreciate an in-depth review of Rapture like this, and will try and respond to everything.

I think that the gloomy atmosphere is suitable, given the inspiration for Rapture...

The stumps I didn't even realise had mystical properties. I thought it was just an easter egg and kept them around, specifically the Triforce stump. Now every now and then truffles grow around it :P I know that I have open spaces, but I'm trying to work out whether I should be planting trees in rows or if the more natural 'forest' look fits my town a little better. I also really should get back into flower hybrids...

I guess you're seeing my PWP as an evolution. It was going to be a modern town for sure, but then I had my Japan trip and the Zen PWP showed up. The day I built the temple bell, I actually was staying in a monastery on Koya-san which had such a bell. As such, I decided to make an area with such decorations. But I really should make up my mind here on which style I want. Agreed.

I'm glad you liked the pathing. I saw it on a link from a thread here and had to have it, but as of this morning the pathing around my house has been destroyed by a new villager's construction site >:( They've plonked the house smack-bang through the main path. I don't know who this Renee is, but they are getting such a visit to my basement

As for the flowers and path around Anicotti's house... when she walks through the flowers, barely her head and ears stick out above those flowers. I think that's pretty cute. And she does sometimes sit on that stump outside her house, which I enjoy

And I've always liked that too. I remember before I had my wet-suit, there was a shell out there I could never get (turned out to be a cowrie shell and not a giant clam shell, but you get that). No idea what to do there really, but I'll try and think of something. I guess a PWP is out of the question... I'll try and force Isabelle into a wet-suit and see how I go

And thanks for the compliment about the house. Right now I'm working on the basement. Hoping that goes just as well!

Thanks for visiting, I appreciate the time and effort you took on this review. If I ever get into the trading side of things I'll try and get something nice to you :)

Heh heh I really enjoyed your proposal to visit! :> I just finished the Dream Suite, I will try to visit tomorrow!

OK, I'm visiting Rapture. It seems pretty dark and gloomy.

The flowers are pretty nice; they seem very natural, not strategically placed to look amazing. It gives quite a nice effect. I like the little garden area around Anicotti's house, as well as the few bushes and stumps scattered around the place.
I don't have much else to say about the bottom secttion of the map, other than the fossils, which are a little creepy.

I like the statue just after the bridge, it seems quite realistic, placement-wise. I also like the sort of mini garden in front of the town hall, it seems very original. The baskets of fruit by the trees are also very nice, I feel like it tells me that someone's been doing their morning routine.

Iggly's little garden is very nice too. I like the gardens that some of the villagers have; they're quite cute. The bamboo around the pond looks very natural, I like it. I also like the single coconut tree on the tiny beach, it's a nice little detail. Most people would just leave it without putting anything on it, so it's pretty cool to see something done there.

Your outfit is a little questionable, but whatever floats your boat I guess. Your house exterior fits in nicely, whilst remaining very original. Onto the interior:
The first room is very classy, although there are a few things that are a little out of place, such as the HHA banner. I like it a lot though, it's very nice.

The room on the right is odd; it's mostly greenery, but then there are quite a lot of things that aren't natural like the rest of it is. I personally don't really like it, as it's quite cramped and, as I said, there are some things that just shouldn't be in there.

The room on the left is very nice though; everything fits well together, it makes a nice little kitchen/dining area. I especially like the alpine furniture, it really works in a kitchen room. I don't really have any complaints about this room.

The upstairs is pretty cute, especially with the music; it really sets the mood. It fits very nicely, and it feels like a lot of time has went into it, with the awards, the song, the pictures, even the custom furniture... it's probably my favourite room. It feels very sentimental, like it matters to you, and that I really like.

And lastly, the basement. It's pretty much barren. Is there a reason for that, or is it a work in progress?

And that's pretty much all I have to say about your town!

Here's a few things I would change though:
-The fairy-tale bench. It seems really out of place, it just really shouldn't be there in my opinion.
-Some of your rooms. As I said, there's some stuff that is definitely out of place. It's mostly good though, but some furniture just throws it off.
-The train station. I don't know if you're working on it or not, but I feel like it should match the town hall.

That's it! Overall I really liked Rapture, it's definitely very original, in a good way.

Thanks for the in-depth analysis and feedback, I appreciate you taking the time!

I'm quite happy with how the outdoors is coming along. I am considering giving most villagers their own wee little garden. However, my own pathing was destroyed today by Renee's house crash-landing in the middle on a really poor angle. I'll have to think hard about that one I guess. Embarrassing that I left the fossils out though.

My personal look kinda changes, but I guess I should work on that.

Thanks for reminding me of the HHA banner: the thing that I've been meaning to move for an eternity but keep forgetting :P It's now finally taken care of, thank you

The room to the right started life as a retro parlour from the 80s (I enjoy mahjong IRL) which is why it has the tape deck and VCR TV, but it is currently a staging point for my complete bonsai set I guess. When I unlock the back room I'll be rehoming them there, hopefully with matching decor

Upstairs is actually a room I am proud of, indeed. I'm glad that you also liked it. I'm not sure if I will ever really overhaul that particular room

And yeah, the basement is a bit of a work-in-progress. I hope to have it a little more filled-in soon

As for your recommendations... I haven't got the PWP yet to change the appearance of the train station, but will be considering it well when/if I get it. And yeah, that bench is a little dated... may turf it and put in a Zen bench, maybe continue the Zen area across the river

Thanks for dropping by, in any case. I appreciate your taking the time to help me out ^^

I have not dreamt of your town, I have not read any of these comments. But know this. Bioshock is literally my favorite game in all of existence. I am so so so SO Excited to dream of this town you have no idea. I will be back to tell you about my experience!

Well now I feel quite under pressure... not sure if it will live up to the hype, but here's hoping :P

Am considering making a room for Little Sisters at some point, but working on one thing at a time. Do have the Lutece Labs above the museum though (as well as various storage rooms)
