Come across a list of removed features from New Leaf

I could be mistaken, but didn't the GC version also have cliffs? I don't just mean cliffs overlooking the beach either.

Yes, it had some cliffs within your town. I played it for a bit and really hated that, it made it more annoying to move around when you had to search for a way down to the next cliff all the time.

Why did they got rid of that?

Maybe because villagers tend to give you a chance to ask them to stay, though it's before they packed up. If you talk to a villager who is moving, they'll usually ask if they should stay after all.

I agree on the constellations and NES games. They were fun.

You also forgot the journals or books you can write stories in. I wish Nintendo brought that back in the next game.

What else I missed - the slot machine furniture piece. I know kids shouldn't be exposed to gambling references in games, but I seen worse. Censorship of gambling references is bad unless if it suggests that kids should gamble. Kids shouldn't gamble at all.

Eh, there's still Chuck E. Cheese though, it's a form of gambling, but for kids :/

The "grid system" was featured in Animal Crossing for the Gamecube, where each acre is camera-locked into a square; when you move acres, the camera shifts to the new acre. It's a little hard to explain unless you see it in action. :p

Yeah, I used to think the game was being 'rude' to the players for suddenly stopping the character just to adjust the game camera XD

these are some interesting features. I never played any of the older animal crossing games (I had the one for DS, but hardly played it at all, sadly). I can understand a little why some things were removed, they have to keep evolving the franchise with each new title.
