So I really want a small HD camera for my birthday as a temp for a few short videos until I get my big Canon. And this is just a colour test I did on some footage from an editing contest I entered a long time ago. It's all done in Sony Vegas, using colour curves, colour correction primary and a colour correction secondary, I think it turned out alright. Nothing compared to what you can do with Apple Colour in Final Cut Pro though. :P

So good colour correction? Yes or no?

Note* This isn't even HD footage.

Huh? What?

I was distracted by the jump, the music, and the creepy guy in the background.

But overall yeah.

I dunno, it just kinda seemed a little too brown to me. Other than that, it was fine.
Alright, I'll keep playing with it, I'm just kinda trying to give it a more movie kind of look.

....

It needs more film burn. Kidding, but I'm not sure I liked the effect you did put in there. As for the colors... the difference is negligible, but the second one fit the music better.

Edit - Can I ask where the footage is from?

And yeah, I know, it's not a huge difference, I'm just trying to give it a more professional look.

Well... "professional" is a loaded word. If you take professional to mean clean and sterile, then that's one thing, but a "professional" skateboarding video tends to be... the opposite.

Maybe darken it a tad bit, but overall it was pretty good.

It's about the colour grading having a more professional look to it. I'm not trying to make a skateboarding video or anything, only reason I chose skateboarding footage is because it is the only footage I have access to atm due to not yet having a camera.
