Club Tortimer

I rarely ever go there, but I did yesterday and got a mixed bunch.

There were a few people who didn't really talk to me, two French people who both disconnected when I asked them if they wanted to go on a tour (although one of them did talk to me).

Then there was one dude who I already had a bad feeling about when he showed up, as his TPC said something like "a kiss from me to you". He said something like "I love you and you me?" and disconnected when I said no and tried to leave.

The last girl was really nice and had a cute mayor, we went on a few tours until I had to leave.

I went Island hopping last night, so I could get rare items and medals. I kept running into some fun group of players. The Island games are so much funner with three or four playing. I had a great time. Everyone I met was nice and polite. Some days are like that.

Today it was rather unpleasant for me, someone wanted my clothes, money and wanted me to buy them stuff with my medals and later a Japanese "guy" started speaking gibberish until I greeted him in Japanese, then he said "kaere Kuso" :( both were wearing a royal crown, beggars and jerks are often wearing a royal crown or a golden rose, go figure...

i kind of regret using my medals to get a club tortimer membership as i've only gone their once.
hearing all these horror stories have made me stray away from going their as well. i don't really play with people on acnl anyways, which i hope to change soon, but i'd rather do tours/beetle farm by myself with no one to threaten or disturb you.

I'm pretty terrified to go to the island, but admittedly, it's only because I've heard other people's horror stories. I've never had any bad experiences myself... Aside from a few people who tried to trap me when I was hopping, which I just flipped my Wi-Fi switch for, I've had some really good experiences doing tours with people. I also once ran into two kids who dug up the island into a race track, and we ran races around the island. It was really cute and fun!

Right, most of experiences are good ones and you deal well with ppl trying to trap you, there is nothing to be terrified off, they are not armed, you can always block them and switch the wi-fi off.

I only go to Club Tortimer to meet the trolls and troll them.

That's the spirit! :P lol

I went on two nights ago to bug hunt and there was a girl on the island. I buy a cabana shelf and then head out the dour to the island it's self. The girl finally says "Too snobby to say hi? thanks." I said "???" and the following that message I say "Hi!" She then leaves the island.

I've been there twice, and both were really good experiences :3

The last time I went, there were two Japanese people (girl and boy based on their characters) on the island, and the girl (Angel-chan) was very sweet.

I think Angel-chan and I got along pretty well despite the language barrier / me not understanding anymore than primary school level Japanese. She was a primary school kid and was very accommodating for it, by not asking anything too complex XD

The boy (Masaki) however, seemed really taken aback by the fact that I could read and answer in Japanese (well, romaji to be precise).
He asked the girl if I was a 'gaijin'/ foreigner and was surprised when I replied back.
There were way too many shocked <!> expressions that made it very very cute.

Masaki then ignored me for the rest of the time there~ lol.

But yeah. Angel hovered around me a bit while I was catching fishes and bugs which I thought was a bit uncomfortable, but maybe she hasn't really come across many foreigners before so it wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
I guess, she was very eager and fascinated by a ...friendly stranger? :3
Then she had to go offline, and considering it was around 8pm, that's a good time for kids to go to sleep.

Lots of "I like you"s, "It was fun", "See you later"s and teary faces were exchanged.

I can just imagine Masaki's reaction then to be like "Eww, girls just go to sleep already." XD

Pic of me and Angel-chan. And Masaki is behind me / near the tree. (Masaki why can't we be friends? XD)

It happened to me as well, I think some Japanese feel intimidated when they notice we can read what they write, perhaps they go to international island just not to be bothered by others, I don't know...

I arrived on the island just before Valentine Day.
Two player were there and he was asking her to be his potato.
He than tried to asking me. And I told him my husband was reading what he wrote.
He said my husband could join in.

LOL I think I saw the same person the same day, but I accepted being his potato, he/she was really funny.

I rarely go to club tortimer, honestly. It's either because I'm bored and it can be nice to talk to a stranger or two, or on rare occasions to buy a bunch of bushes during landscaping binges. I try to be polite and make sure me leaving isn't going to interfere too much with what people are doing (as in, everyone is inside/someone just went outside and I hopefully won't be getting in their way), because I know it really breaks up the flow of bug hunting and even simple conversation.

Always annoys me when people say I'm poor' or want bells.
Also annoying when they dig everything up and build a 'house' with shovel holes

I've been there multiple times, but one time I caught a golden stag and then the connection crashed. So, I lost that stag. (I got like 3 more though on solo and multiple sharks.)
