There's countless stories out there about club Tortimer. Some good, some bad, and some really nasty.

So I'd like to know what your experience(s) were like at the island, who was there, and whether you'd like to go back again, or never want to even go near it again ٩(●❛?❛)۶

Or if you've never been to club Tortimer yet, how do you think it'll go, or what do you hope will happen when you go?

I only went there once in my lifetime. Although I never had conflict, somebody flipped the wi-fi switch as soon as I started an island tour. I can see why starting island tours causes conflict.

After hearing all these horrible stories on Club Tortimer, I'm not going there ever again. I've dealt with trashy kids online before in my life, but the ones on ACNL are the worst. They demand a lot out of you with nothing in return. If you don't do what they want, they will cuss at you or make insulting remarks (or both). Using the island tours to trap people on the island to give into a scam is a very bad thing, and they do this a lot. They're also gender biased, and they'll pick on someone who's the opposite gender.

The reason why the trashy kids on ACNL are worse than Call of Duty's is because we worked hard on our towns and stuff, and they're trying to take what we got for free when they didn't work on the towns at all. Not all kids are like that, but the trolls on Club Tortimer are usually trashy.

From this thread.

Today, I decided to go to Club Tortimer since I was bored. Almost every single time I went on the island, I kept meeting the most weirdest people. The first island I went to, I met a 10th grader who lived in Pennsylvania, it was funny how she couldn't even spell the name of her own state. She spelled it "pencilvenia" or something like that. She was very creepy, she would not stop asking me for personal information. First, she asked for my name, I said Atsuya, but she meant what's my real name and I told her. Then she asked me which school I went to. She thought I was somebody who went to school with her, so I asked her which state she lived in, and it turns out I live nowhere near where her. Later, she kept blabbing on how unrealistic NL seems, which I honestly couldn't give 2 ****s about how realistic she thought it was, and I told her how I thought it looked more realistic compared to past games. After, she kept saying "really mental issues -.-" "you got mental issues". I left soon after.

On the next island, I met a boy who was wearing royal clothing. The first thing he said was "im rich". I said "OK". He replied back with "31 million" and I said "cool". After 2 minutes, it disconnected. I went back and the next island had someone named Danny, and he kept talking to me about how his villager needed a signature and that needed to add someone and how he was willing to pay me in bells. I refused for reasons, one of them being that CT has a reputation for having scammers/trolls. The next island had a girl called "Kya" and someone else I forgot (I think Josh?). The guy kept talking about how he was gay and how we was looking for a boyfriend. I'm fine with that, but he would not stop talking about that and it got kind of irritating and awkward after awhile. Somewhere in the back in my head I felt like he he was just trolling, though. It disconnected, and when I went back, I met Josh again. We were chatting, and he did the exact same thing he did before the disconnect. He later asked me if I was gay, then he said "what if i kissed you?" then he started saying "-kisses-" multiple times. After, asked me to be his boyfriend and I said no since I don't date people on Animal Crossing/online/in general. After that, he demanded me that I leave the island, which irritated me even more. I ended up disconnecting.

Seriously, what the f*** is up with Club Tortimer people. Also, I kept meeting this person from Puerto Rico over and over again which was odd.

TLDR: I met a 10th grader who asked me what school I went to and kept saying random bull****. I met some kid who was apparently rich and would not stop talking about it. I met someone who was offering bells to go to my town for signatures. I met someone who asked me if I was gay and asked me to be his boyfriend. I denied since I don't date people in Animal Crossing. And I kept meeting some girl from Puerto Rico.

I had to edit the post because of a few grammar errors. Also, I met a 6 year old on the island a few days later, which was by far the most awkward experience I've ever had on Club Tortimer.

Club Tortimer is a great place to go to if you're bored. I'd definitely go back, it's really entertaining.

Ehhh... It can be ok as long as you don't get stuck with a bunch of 8 year olds.

My worst experience was when I was on the island for about a hour and some punk tells me to give them 200,000 bells. Of course I'm like, no? wtf. Anyway, kid gets upset, calls me a few names, and flip switch. Bam. Whole hour of catching bugs gone to waste. :/

Best experience was with a group consisting of 3 people (including me!) and doing all these tours together/catching bugs. We did that for like 2 hours and it was a whole lot of fun. Plus one of them gave me and the other 50k when she was leaving. Never got their FC though...

Most of the time when I go on there to catch bugs, so I cut most of the trees and get rid of almost everything. This gets a lot of confused reactions/people getting upset that I'm "destroying" the island. Then you have to explain why and stuff. Most people don't get the concept of sneaking around and walking either, so most bugs get scared off.

Overall, I go on Club Tortimer like once a week, just to chill or see if I can tour with a fun group. I much rather go to my own island when bug catching, but tour with others. I would rate it a 6/10

club tortimer is definitely great with my experience. last year, a few weeks after i bought the game, i got access to the island and then bought the club tortimer membership. i didnt think much of it, and absolutely hated it at first because so many people stole my bugs and fish out of the water!
but i decided to play at 8 am since nobody in my house was awake, and neither was my friends. i met a girl there named moka, turns out she's from japan! we started talking a bit, added eachother, exchange skype details and then, we became best friends! just last november her and i started skype calling, and it's absolutely amazing, having someone from so far away but having them seem so close!
it's definitely worth it in my experience, but there are some bad apples- i used to have my mayor wear a pacifier, and someone from the UK kept following me around the island and saying "take that sucker out of your mouth" and scaring away all my bugs and fish. it was awful. but overall, with the right people, it's a blast! :)

I go to Club Tortimer all the time, it is really fun, I like going fishing, diving, and doing the tours, it is a great and fun place. :)

a lot of the time i just meet really annoying children. they call me names or they just start griefing and scaring stuff off...
i have met some nice people though, i remember meeting this one girl and her and i just silently caught bugs together, it was nice.

I mainly go to Club Tortimer for the special items, although I usually get a good group of people. It's a lot more fun playing the tours multiplayer than by yourself.

I guess a big reason why I've never run into anyone unpleasant on Club Tortimer is because I go only on the regional server, and at times when most annoying children are asleep or at school, so I've only ever met nice college students/unemployed grads. And I never go to Club Tortimer to hunt for fish or bugs, only to grind for medals. It's not fun for me at all (not only are they expensive, they're Club Tortimer exclusive?!) but at least there's no chance of me losing "bells" if there's a connection problem. If I want to work on my tan or catch things, I go to the local island.

I've been, and not had any really bad experiences... but not any really good ones, either. one time I ran into a really odd person that I didn't wanna talk to... they went on a tour with me, but they failed to get enough fruit for Tortimer so my effort went to waste and it was disappointing. I just left after that. haven't been back since, but not because of the not so great experiences I had. just not wanted to. if I'm out to catch bugs, I'll be doing that on my own island.

Mostly people asking for money on the island, which has been happening pretty frequently to me these days. ._.

god, I can't count how many times some kids have been like 'why are you wearing a dress when you're a boy'

I've only gone twice since getting the game in july 2013, once USA only and once international. The USA one was a little bizzarre, a guy in a kappa outfit kept following me around and saying I was pretty, and telling the other people to back off, then when I wouldn't talk back to him he got a little snippy. We played one game, ore hunting, I got the most points, then I left quickly before having to hear about it from the weird Kappa guy. The other time was some people trading fruit. I didn't stay long, seemed kinda boring.

I'll probably go back sometime, I don't feel one way or the other about it, mostly I wanted to see if there were any of the special items for sale. I was hoping for a fun time, and it wasn't terrible, feels ridiculous to have to leave my crown at home though....

The funny thing about Club Tortimer is, no one knows what really goes on there! On the days when you can see the alien at 3:33 on your TV go to the island under North America only, then, you will know what the Turtle Club is really all about! If you're lucky.

Yea, if you can get past all the annoying people who do nothing but ask for bells, you can meet some really nice people on the island. There's also the people who come, look at the store for rare items, and then leave immediately which can be really annoying.

The best is meeting people who are actually there to make friends, but I usually do a badge check because if you have a decent amount of badges I'm less fearful you're going to rob me if we exchange FCs.

An interesting experience I like doing is going to the international island and try to talk with people even though there is a language barrier. Google translate can only go so far, but it seems like most of the people I meet are real cool about it and enjoy trying to talk to someone who doesn't know there language.

I spend a lot of time there, most of ppl are nice, there are many beggars though and a few kids in need of attention, aka trouble makers, but you can block them and won't see them again. It kind of help you to develop your social skills and patience somehow XD

I'm afraid I'm one of them, but I also do tours...but right, it's annoying for the persons who just want to catch bugs and fish, especially when they are about to catch something valuable or just chat.

Yea I don't mind if it happens occasionally lol Just really annoying 3-4 times in a row. I don't fault people for doing it either, I just wish the game wasn't designed so that one person's actions in multiplayer affected everyone else's game so much.

My bigget issue is with how ACNL handles multiplayer in general and this is issue just merely a side effect of that. I could go on and on about it...but that's a post for another day XD

I find it annoying myself, when I'm not the one travelling, but now I'm trying to fill my basket between ppl so it saves each time someone arrives and I lose less when a funny one switch the wi-fi off
