I had this happen ways too often already:

Somebody arrives at the island and starts talking to me in a language I don't understand.

I say that I can't understand that, and they disconnect(flip the wifi switch)!

Well I'm sorry that I can't speak Japanese T.T no need to be so dramatic about it.

I encounter Japanese people a lot too. I always sorta feel bad when they are trying to tell me something but I don't understand. I don't want them to think I am being rude! D:
