Clouds: Interior decorating question

I was curious about something and thought I'd put some feelers out.

There are a couple of villager homes where it looks like you're walking on clouds... the floor covered in a dreamy misty.
Pietro and Julian are two classic examples.

Is there any way you can duplicate that in your own house, either with a certain item or types of flooring... or is it something that's just locked to NPC's?
I'm redoing the interior of my house and I'd like to do something like this on the 2nd floor.

I can only tell you that Saharah is the only NPC that sells "Cloud Flooring" if thats what you're looking for.

As stated, you're probably looking for the Cloud Flooring. Check Saharah when she visits your island, or her co-op every week, or the HHP catalogue.

I don't know if you plan to just have the floor by itself or want to layer rugs over it.
If you plan for the latter, the Broken stone-path flooring has a nice foggy effect. It's more subtle than the cloud flooring and also from Sahara.

Just wanted to give an update on this quest:

Sahara finally had Cloud flooring in her inventory a couple weeks ago and I've got the attic in my house outfitted with it plus some other things. At a later date, I'll be sure to add a photo of the final product
