I TT forward 2 days, speak with every villager to see if they want to move(but deny all requests for fruit/deliveries/etc), and see if anyone has laid a plot (because I usually get a request to move around the same time someone is moving in). If nobody bites, I save, TT forward another 2 days and repeat the process. I'm in like the year 2017 right now, lol.
