Hello! I'm temporarily back from a few-month hiatus, but I just had a question about the PWPs that lower the citizen satisfaction in your town. I have built the max amount of PWPs and when I speak to Isabelle about the satisfaction of the citizens, it says "I think it can only go up from here! So far to go!" and that the villagers feel like my town is undeveloped and they would like to see more PWPs. The PWPs I have are as follows:

Wooden Bridge x2 (these I am not willing to change, but I don't think they greatly impact what I'm seeking anyways)
Metal Bench x5
*Drinking Fountain
Instrument Shelter
*Sandbox
*Tire Toy
*Jungle Gym
*Street Lamp x3
*Hammock
*Fire Pit
*Camping Cot
*Outdoor Chair
Hot Spring
Stone Tablet
*Bell
Bus Stop
Fire Hydrant
*Illuminated Heart
Illuminated Arch
Illuminated Clock
Solar Panel
Lighthouse
*Tower

The ones with the '*' are ones that I'm quite fond of for where they are and what they function as, and it would be a little more difficult for me to simply replace them.

Also I have built the campsite, the caf?, the reset center, and the modern police station, if that helps in any way.

What I'm looking for are suggestions on what I should replace with PWPs that better the citizen satisfaction and what I can just get rid of completely and replace them with trees, since some of them I only built in attempt to up the satisfaction, but it only got worse (Fire Hydrant, Solar Panel, Lighthouse, and Hot Spring). Also, they all ended up killing a few trees (which I'm not sure how many I have exactly, but I do have quite a few around the whole town), so if those are PWPs I can just demolish, I would be able to replant the trees, or if there's a better option that's about the same size as those (like the Windmill instead of the Lighthouse), I would also appreciate the input.

So anyways, what do you suggest I do with some of the PWPs that aren't satisfying the citizens of Laverre?

Thank you for your time in advance~! ^^<3

Wel, there's some PWP's that can lower citizen satisfaction like the Pile of Pipes or a Trash Can (Where am i gonna dump my stuff?, Reese doesn't accept old boots)!.

Villager population can play a key role too, 10 villagers is enough for you to rank up a bit.

If there's too much dirt you may have to get some grass, since dirt lowers satisfaction.

Oh I didn't know that about the dirt. :o I use dirt paths instead of placing down patterns! I have all of my dream villagers moved in and in their permanent spots, also.

But at one point, before I started trying to get a perfect town, the citizen satisfaction wasn't bad at all. I'm not sure what Isabelle said exactly, but it made me think, "Oh if I only build a few more PWPs I'll have a perfect town!" and then it just got worse...

I agree, your issue may be needing more villagers. All of your pwps are fine. Be sure to have plenty of flowers and enough trees. Keep in mind of any furniture or items you have in your town (even fruit baskets) can count as trash. If you have anything, just put them at the beach.

Good luck! I'm sure you'll get a perfect town rating soon!

I don't keep any furniture or fruit baskets on the ground, and I picked up anything that wasn't a flower off of my beach. :/

Thanks for your input and your wishes! ^^

do you have weeds?

you may need more nature: how many flowers, bushes, and trees do you have?

also, you may need some of the PWP that include nature, such as: topiaries, flower bed, flower arch, flower clock if you can get it (not sure if have to already have perfect status tho for it)

i think your tire toy PWP actually largely decreases the perfect town score. i think from what i've read that your illuminated pwpws, tower, and picnic blanket all slightly decrease perfect town score.

also, not sure if flowers on beach count towards the score or not...

I don't have any weeds, and I'm not sure exactly how many trees or bushes I have, but throughout the entire town, there are trees and bushes everywhere. As far as the topiaries are concerned, I only have one problem with them: my town is set in the fall, so I don't feel that the green bushes match. Although, I the planted bushes stay green throughout the seasons... I may have to look into where I could possibly put those.

I haven't had perfect town status in this town yet, so I don't have the flower clock yet, unfortunately. :/ But I could replace the illuminated arch with the flower arch. Also, I had heard that the tire toy does decrease the score, but I have also found multiple people say they had a perfect town with the tire toy and the garbage can and a few others. I think they just had to balance it out with other PWPs that raised the score more than those PWPs lowered it. I'm just not sure which ones to counter them with. ^^;

I'm pretty sure it's going to be your illuminated heart/clock/etc PWPs. I'm pretty sure the flowery PWPs increase citizen satisfaction - so the flower clock and wisteria trellis for example. I'll do a bit of searching and see what else I can find on the subject.

Ok. Found this info on thonky....

"Good: Flower Clock, Flower Bed, Flower Arch, Wisteria Pergola, Straw Fence, topiaries, Solar Panels, Wind Power Generator, Windmill
Bad: Garbage Can, Jumbo Monitor, Oil Excavator, Tire Play Equipment, Picnic Sheet, Traffic Light, illumination items, Tower"

I think it's just that your "bad" PWPs are outranking the "good" PWPs. Maybe try demolishing a bench and building something else?

I had actually thought about placing the Wisteria Trellis somewhere, but I have all of my dreamies already moved in (and I have also already done a 16 villager cycle once), none of which are Uchi, and I haven't unlocked it yet. T.T So that option is not very likely, unless I just completely replace a villager for an Uchi. I may end up doing that at some point, but for now, I won't be doing that. I could replace my lighthouse with the windmill, even though a windmill by the beach doesn't make much sense... lol. I can try to find a different place for it though. I actually had a windmill at one point and then I changed it to the tower because my town is french-themed. ^^; I'll go ahead and replace the illuminated arch with the flower arch and see what that does; though I would really like to keep the illuminated PWPs since my dream town is going to be at night. I can also see where I can squeeze in a wind turbine, a fence, and a flower bed as well.

Thank you very much for your help! ^^<3

ultimately, what does perfect town status mean anyway? i guess it unlocks the flower clock, and jacob's ladders start growing, and you can get the gold watering can. but you can buy the can and the flowers from other players anyhow at this forum and others. so, why change anything in your town if you don't want to??

I think for most people it's a sense of achievement. Whilst you're right, and you can buy the flowers/can on here, knowing you earnt is another thing entirely.

Also there's nothing to say they can't change it back afterwards :)

That's exactly right! It's really the only reason I'm trying to get a perfect town, and then I had planned on changing everything back, or at least the stuff I didn't end up liking more. ^^

Most of the players have already mentioned the important deets (like the bad pwps and stuff), but I just wanna ask, what ordinance is your town using right now? The Keep Beautiful ordinance helps a lot. And plant lots of bushes, trees, and flowers (but not too much x) )! My town only has a few PWPs when I got the perfect town status, but I think it was because of the tons of flowers I had scattered around town. (Not sure about this, but I think they also check the amount of nature-y stuff per part of the town or something? You could also try spreading out your plants to different areas, but make sure to balance them out with PWPs! c: )

Hope this helps, and good luck with achieving your perfect town! <3

My guest town had the large screen, tower, garbage can, tire toy, blanket, jungle gym and illuminated items.
It pass the Perfect town challenge. I have the garbage can for guests.

In my main town I had the blanket and all the illuminated items except for the clock. That town pass the checks. Checked in last night and it got the highest rating with 5 baskets of perfect fruit on the ramp to the beach.
The windmill would be a good thing to add to up your rating.

It's getting close to the end of the year and my grass is gone in a lot of spots. It didn't effect the rating.

This page was very helpful for me when trying to get Perfect Town.

Perfect Town Requirements

The rating depends on three categories: Cleanliness, Abundant Nature and Abundant Living.

Cleanliness
less than 10 weeds
less than 10 items on the ground (not counting sea shells, fruit, mushrooms, flowers, buried fossils, buried gyroids, buried Pitfall Seeds)
no garbage (Empty Can, Boot, Old Tire, Spoiled Turnips)
no Rafflesia

Abundant Nature
Trees between 110 and 200
Flowers over 50
High Nature Points from Public Works Projects
Good: Flower Clock, Flower Bed, Flower Arch, Wisteria Pergola, Straw Fence, topiaries, Solar Panels, Wind Power Generator, Windmill
Bad: Garbage Can, Jumbo Monitor, Oil Excavator, Tire Play Equipment, Picnic Sheet, Traffic Light, illumination items, Tower

Abundant Living
High Living Points from Public Works Projects
Best: Campground
Good: bridges, benches, outside lights, Garden Chair, Hot Spring, Fire Hydrant, Stadium Lights, Solar Panels, Lighthouse
OK: almost everything else including Water Well, Fountain, clocks, Signboard, Face Board, signs, art, monuments, etc.
Bad: Garbage Can

Personally the problem I had was the balance between Nature and Living, so perhaps try working on that?
