Christmas memories

My favorite Christmas memory is when my grandpa gave my sister, my aunt, and me a big box of Wii games he got from a friend at work. We were sitting on the floor looking through them when one game instantly caught my eye. I was really into life sim games so Animal Crossing: City Folk stood out right away. I pretty much claimed it for myself and didn’t let anyone else play it. That Christmas is honestly how my Animal Crossing obsession started and thinking about it still makes me feel super nostalgic.

I honestly don't remember most of them. Something I do happen to remember is the time I went Christmas shopping with my dad and he was getting my sister a Switch game, which stood out because we didn't have a Switch! It turns out my sister convinced him to get a Switch earlier that month when they were birthday shopping for me.

When I was a kid my dad took me on a train ride to the North Pole and most of the train ride was just everyone sitting there singing along to Christmas songs.. we didn't want to sing along though so my dad and I started very loudly yelling the lyrics instead and they had to tell us to stop

Then when I got home I was allowed to open a present early and it was Connect Four

My memory can be trash, but I do remember when the Wii came out, whatever year that was, my aunt got it for me. I didn't expect it at all. In fact, I was blindsided by the present. I was so excited and I remember staying up that Christmas Eve and just playing with the Wii, the menu, and Wii Sports. I love that memory and simpler times.

This was a long time ago for me. My mom's dad passed away in '04. A few years before he passed away. His house would be completely decorated like really well. I found out years later that my mom's mother did that. Anyways, he had this stuff dog that I would ask for every Christmas and he would always tell me no it's mine. After he died, I got that dog.. I still have it to this day in honor of him

I remember way back in the early/mid 90s when Christmas was a huge deal. When you're a kid, I remember it taking it forever to come around and I think that helped made it feel special.

I have fond memories of school during Christmas time and the fun atmosphere before our break. We'd have Christmas concerts, class parties, making our own decorations, watching Christmas movies (when the teacher rolled in the TV cart and VCR [olden days version of a Blu-ray player or Netflix]).

Having that Christmas joy feeling back when you were young was one thing that I remember and miss the most.
