So for the past few days I have been trying to catch a char. I think it's suppose to be in the waterfall section (by the ocean) but whenever i catch a fish there, it's a salmon. I have caught so. many. salmon. I was wondering if I am missing something important, or if there's a glitch in my game, or am I doing everything wrong. Also share your experiences with catching a char.

I usually just toss my line over the waterfall. If nothing bites then I'll do save and continue, after reeling it back in.
My date is 9/28/14 (September). Also, does waiting for it to respawn, or checking the whole river then going back, work?

FOUND A CHAR AND A KING SALMON. TYSM for telling me to save and continue. It worked ^_^

I've found them at the bottom of the waterfall and at the top of the waterfall. If you see a fish close to the waterfall try and catch it.
When I started looking for Salmon all I caught were Char. After September it should be easier to catch. They show up from 4am to 9pm.
I didn't save an continue. Sometimes you can't see a fish because it's hiding. So I just throw it down into the waterfall and wait.
I've seen them spawn while it was down there.
