Ok, I'm literally getting tired of staying up late just to find the bugs and fish I need for my encyclopedia and museum, so I'm thinking of changing the time so I can catch the late night ones when I'm more awake during the day. So a couple of questions I have are, what are the side effects of changing the time? Please note, I'm just changing the time and not the date. Is there anything I should be concerned about doing this? I've kinda never done this before, so yeah...

Also, will changing the time affect my backup savings? Any help would be appreciated, as like I've said, I've never changed the time before on my switch. I really would like to catch these critters too... 🙂

A suggestion I can give you if you don't want to TT is to go to a mystery island when the beetles spawn and put your switch into sleep mode. The morning after you can continue to catch them, they will keep spawning like it's still the time you went to the island!

Besides turnips spoiling, there shouldn’t be any. As for back ups, it shouldn’t affect it, as it only backs up when you’re not playing, no matter what time it is.

Ok, thanks! I think I'm just gonna change the time during the day, as it will be easier for me anyway. 🙂

I change my time too(sometimes the day but not usually) and it doesn't hurt anything. I don't have time to play late at night either

No TT penalties in NH other than turnips spoiling if you go back or past Sunday.

If you don't wanna move days forward, etc. you can always take note of the time (including the date) when you quit the game, I usually just take a screenshot of the game's time indicator before quitting. When you're ready to play again adjust the clock to a few mins after that time and continue where you left off.

If you want to go back to current time just quit the game and turn on internet time synchronization in the Switch's settings. :)

A minor side effect of TTing backwards is that any flowers that have been watered on your island will lose their watered status. If you're not breeding or cloning flowers, then there is nothing to worry about, but if you are watering flowers then do it after you've finished TTing for the day.
