Changing Seasons - TT Question

I'm out to get some opinions....

I started my town on the current calendar date in the real world. Now I'm thinking it would be nice to have AC summer in winter and AC winter in summer - if you understand my meaning. So (here's the opinion part), would you recommend I restart my town altogether or just make one giant calendar leap about 6 months ahead?

I've heard if you TT too far in advance, it affects some of the aspects of the game (like turnip prices, for instance). So what do you more experienced players recommend?

You can also time travel backwards (to summer 2017), and it'll count as time traveling one day forward in all effects (weeds, villagers moving)... I think it's safer.
I'm not sure about turnips though. I never time travel and mine are always bad, so... >v<

Going back one minute will spoil your turnips. Jumping ahead to Sunday will spoil the turnips.
Sell the turnips and stop a mover before jumping ahead. Pick a date that isn't one of your player/villagers birthdays or an event. They wouldn't speak to you until the event is over. Arrive and talk to all the villagers to get rumor talk or a mover leaving town. Stop the villager from moving. Make sure to talk to all 10 villagers to get the where have you been out of the way.

If you want to keep your flowers make sure beautiful ordinance is on before jumping ahead. It takes another day for it to go in to effect.
Club LOL not opened than you should wait. Player that got the signatures and jumped ahead to get the club unlocked had problems. The Club LOL didn't open.
If you have 10 villagers than you wouldn't have a move in. Lower you might get a new villager when you arrive. Put tiles down to save spots you don't want them to land in.

I have a town where I play late February to late September. Jump ahead and haven't lost a villager.

This worked out great! Thanks for the tips! It was nice to run on the green grass in a tank top after dragging home from work in 6" of snow! I think I'm going to like this seasonal shift.
