OK, basically the difference is that the margins are bigger. This was done to make the main change easier for some people. What the real change is, is that it no longer fits to the browser window. People with smaller windows or resolutions will just uses a horizontal scroll bar. The reason the margins were made bigger was so people with 800x600 can at least see the entire middle section (where all the content is). The right nav is cut off for them.

The reasons we decided not to have it fit to the screen are:
- A lot easier to develop and design the site.
- Everyone sees basically the same thing.
- Less problems for IE people.

The update is not 100% complete, but I should have it done today.
 
And for 'WEIRD' people who use side bookmarks.
