Pokémon catching

It seems like every time, the legendary I'm trying to catch breaks out after either not shaking at all, or after 3 shakes. I thought 3 shakes=caught. Does this pis anybody else off?

There's four checks. The first is before the first shake, then one after every shake. So even with three shakes, there's a high chance they'll break out considering they're legendaries. A critical capture might help against it.

Lucky you didn't play the older games, legendaries were a great deal harder to catch then. The "four checks" has always been in effect since at least firered/leafgreen.

I've had regular Pok?mon break out after three shakes too... try to make them weaker, put them to sleep (or something), or use a stronger Pok?ball.

its always best to put a pokemon to sleep/paralyze them before you throw a pokeball. if you dont quite care for pokeballs,, use ones that make most sense, like dusk for caves/nighttime or timer if youve tried 37692198741401876487 other ones already.

So relatable. For me, Kyogre wouldn't get caught and ended up killing itself.

i know right shayminskyforme88 i mean i really want a deoxys but that means to beat the elite 4 and steven i barely made it the 2nd time so maybe when my pokemon are stronger i'll go for it again maybe.

Try bringing a high leveled Pokemon with False Swipe and also something with Thunder Wave or Nuzzle to paralyze it.

that's what i thought thanks again for the advice shayminskyforme88 let's see my highest lv.pokemon that i have w/me in the lead is blaziken but i'll have to check my pc for anything else.
