Catching a Tarantula

A Tarantula is the next to last bug I need.

I currently have my town set to a night in June and I've been walking around town and entering and exiting the train station for THREE HOURS and I have only seen one tarantula and it ran away.


Does anyone have any tips on how to make them spawn more frequently? I'm about to pull my hair out.

Tarantulas and scorpions tend to spawn in barren areas, ie. with little trees/bushes (don't know if flowers count). That could be the issue? Other than that, it's patience, and be sure to not invite anyone over - when the gates are open, they stop spawning.
I wish you luck it took me a long time to catch too!

Just walk around until you forget why you're looking for one and one will jump you.
Try scaring other bugs away?

Don't have a lot of flowers or patterns on the floor. I never see them appear near my gardens and I did see one randomly disappear into the pattern decorations I had around the central plaza. I also think I see them around 6-7pm or later.
