So, I'm trying to work on getting the catalog badge from Phineas, but I have a question. Does the catalog badge count all the RV/dlc/special items too, or is it just what you can buy from the Nooklings, Gracie, etc. I'm asking because it would be a pain in the butt to try and collect all the special items if I don't need to.
I'm pretty sure it should only include stuff you can normally buy, with bells.
However back when the WA update came out, I was buying a ton of WA stuff and I got the gold badge, despite the fact I wasn't really buying anything normal. I think the WA items can help you get to the gold catalogue badge, but aren't needed. I hope.
My understanding is that gifted/rewarded items (Holiday Set, Spooky Set, etc.) also count towards the catalog badge.
I have also been working on getting up to 80%. It takes time and patience. I also have somewhat ignored the Kicks store, so I should probably go back and make sure to get stuff there.
I got the gold catalog badge without most of the WA or DLC items. I only got the special items I really wanted and for the rest I just bought every new item that came into Kicks, the Able Sisters, and the Nookling store each day. It took a long time, but I eventually got there. I'm sure if I had gone after more of the holiday furniture and the WA and DLC items I probably would have gotten it sooner, but it wasn't necessary.
