Which option do you prefer when you go out shopping? Do you like the personal touch of checking out with a cashier or do you prefer the privacy that comes with self-checkout kiosks? Let us know your preference below.

I like the idea of self-checkout because i usually find talking to the cashiers a little awkward but i always seem to mess up self-checkout and staff have to come over and help me which is much worse, so I'll go for Cashier out of those too. (although online shopping & getting someone else to checkout for me are first lmao, so other)

self checkout always tells me to bag **** I've already bagged and wastes way too much of my time trying to deal with its bull****

so I'll just take the cashier

plus aside from the usual courtesy greeting/parting and payment stuff, they never really talk to me anyways, so...

self checkout but not because im *~edgy~* and i dont like talking to people but because there's usually a shorter line there (at least where i live)

Cashier tbh, the self-checkout stands here are very sensitive and if you like forget to put something somewhere it errors at once and then you need help anyways.

Yeah, I hate it when the kiosk is like, "PLEASE PLACE ITEM IN BAGGING AREA!" and you place the item, but the kiosk still doesn't detect it, so you try removing it and placing it again, and then the kiosk starts barking, "PLEASE PLACE ITEM IN BAGGING AREA!" and you don't know what to do, and the kiosk keeps barking, "PLEASE PLACE ITEM IN BAGGING AREA" and you start becoming self-conscious because the kiosk is really loud and the cute girl at the kiosk next to you turns to see what's going on, and you start nervously tapping the Cancel button at the bottom corner of the screen to restart the whole transaction and just when you think the embarrassment is over, the machine blurts out, "PLEASE WAIT FOR ASSISTANCE!" and you start stand there feeling like an incompetent moron as a cashier comes over to reset the transaction and allow you to buy that sole Snickers bar you decided you were craving right before leaving the store.

Yeah this is all the checkout things ever here they are sensitive af with the bagging and placement things.. like why even go there if you still need cashier help that is easier anyways.

I usually go to a cashier if there is one available and the line isn't too long. Self check outs can be a bit of a headache sometimes.

we don't have self-checkout at my local grocery store, so i go with cashier. if there was self-checkout, i'd definitely use it.

We don't have self-checkouts where I live (tbh this is the first I've ever heard of it so this is all new to me) so definitely cashier :)
If we had self-checkouts though I'd probably prefer using them. o:

Depends on the line and whether or not I'm at work. Work is almost always cashier unless I'm tired or don't recognize anyone.

Self-check out because I kind of get anxiety about talking to cashiers lol, even though I work in retail myself so I'm kind of used to it. I guess it doesn't bother me as MUCH as it used to but I still prefer the option of scanning my shopping myself.

Self check-out always because I'm bad at understanding what people are saying in a busy place. I really hate how machines are taking a human's job, though. So I hope people continue to use cashiers.

A) So machines don't take over human jobs.
B) So I don't have to wait in the self check out line, hehe.
