Can't time travel back to K.K.?

So I forgot about K.K. tonight. I set my clock back a few hours.. he's not there. It's July 4th at 6pm in my game, and the plaza is empty. I played earlier this afternoon and he was there.

I know they changed k.k. with fishing tourneys and bug offs to appear on Sundays now... But did they change something so you can't go back after he leaves on a Saturday?

I think turning back the time doesn’t undo what has already happened for that day. You probably first need to go to the next day then travel back to reset Saturday.
