I don’t know if I’m actually going nuts, but I’m currently on a bamboo island, and I’ve been just about every tree, and I haven’t gotten a single piece of young bamboo. Did they make changes to the bamboo island that I’m just not aware off?

Usually, the young spring bamboo drops when it's Spring. I haven't gotten any young spring bamboo either. If you are comfortable with it, i'd suggest time traveling if you really need some
