Can you sleep on a Mystery Island?

Hey everyone. I was wondering about the following. I'm currently on a Mystery Island that works very well for bug catching. I customised it a little bit too, with extra palm trees 'n' such.

If I put my Switch in sleep mode and continue playing tomorrow, will I still be on the Mystery Island? Does anyone know?

yeah and will still be the same time too, just the lighting will reflect the actual time. there is a trick that way to catch scorpions in the daytime
