Can you replace a villager with the same villager?

May sound weird, but I LOATHE the starters houses, and I got Sherb, that I really like, so I was wondering if I let him go and get a new one, or ask someone to keep it for me and then give it back, can I do that immediately or I need to wait?

Also If he comes back, will he have his normal house or the lazy starter one?

If you have more that one amiibo card, you can kick him with another and the kick him/her with teddy. But sadly for my sherb doesn't have an amiibo.

I did this yesterday with someone on another site for Dom who is my jock starter and he remembered me when I went to pick him up! He was my latest move out so no cycle was necessary like in NL and he was excited we were going to neighbors again.

His wallpaper/flooring changed to what it is supposed to be instead of the default jock interior so you can definitely ask them to come back right away with the correct interior.

Oh my god, how did it never occur to me to use one Amiibo to kick Teddy out, then his own to move him back in?? Thank you for reminding me I could do that!

Man, I sure hope they come out with a new Amiibo mini-series for Sherb and the other new villagers soon!
