Can you plant bushes next to floor paths?

I usually rub off my pathways when planting bushes adjacent to them and it's a pain going an all my characters to fix them. I was wondering if it matters? Will it wilt if I don't rub them off or?

Short answer: Yes.

yes you can just not next to rocks buildings public work projects or anything like that

I've been planting tons of them lately all along my paths and none have died. So I'd say you don't have to clear the path before planting.

I second this.

My town is full of paths and I plant bushes and they don't wilt.

Yep. Bushes will grow next to other bushes, trees, bamboo, patterns, and even next to the cobblestone that's in front of the train station/retail and around the town tree.

Just don't plant them on the beach or next to rocks, buildings, water or cliffs and you should be good c:
