Can you kick out villagers without replacing them?

In the new update, can you kick villagers out, namely random move-ins, without replacing them in the same spot with an amiibo villager? If so, how?

I don't think so. You'd have to replace a villager with an amiibo as far as I know.

Nope. You must have an amiibo villager ready to move in. No random kick outs.

Wouldn't think so..the only reason you are able to kick villagers out at all is because you are using an amiibo which bypasses everything else.

Does the same mean you start the game with a current human who finds the new plot in the same spot as the previous villager’s home?

I have a town separate from those listed in my signature. I started a new day with a new human for the plot-setting method. The new villager’s plot was not found in the previous villager’s location.
