Can you invite more than one villager in a day? (from island + campsite)

Today I was about to go island hopping, which is my favorite activity.

And then I found Marshal in my campsite, who is my favorite villager.

I was wondering if it was possible for me to still go island hopping (to fill my empty plot), then have Marshal bump one of my existing villagers. Would it still work? Would they then both move in on consecutive days?

I really want to go island hopping, but I don't want to risk losing Marshal...

I've been told it would work, but I was wondering if someone has tried it?

it will work! I haven't tried it with a random camper, but I have tried it with an amiibo camper. the one from the island tour will move in first I believe, then marshal. I'm pretty certain there's no way to lock yourself out of getting a random camper, so you're good to go

yes~ he'll do his "the sitch here is no bueno" speech and pick a random villager as if you had 10 villagers. I've done this twice with amiibo campers and nothing bad has happened haha

I’d be curious if he is able to pick the sold plot (from island hopping). Pls keep us updated! And congrats on marshal!! He’s a cute bean
