Can you ask moving villagers to stay?

i accidentally did this to wolfgang while tting stitches out, just checking to see if this function's in the game
i really don't want him gone,,,

unfortunately not, as far as i'm aware.
the only thing you could try is ending your game before it autosaves to undo the decision. :/

i saw someone say you could use a second character to convince them to stay but i have no idea if this is true or not since i've never tested it!! if it doesn't work then i'm really sorry about wolfgang

I thought it had been established that villagers had to ask to leave and wouldn’t just go on their own, but between this and seeing reports on Reddit that villagers are randomly in boxes, I’m nervous but still cautiously skeptical. Has anyone who doesn’t TT had a villager leave without asking first?

Just imagine what would happen to all those Raymond pursuers expending so much in procuring him for their islands if he just ups and leaves a week later...

yeah i was gonna give this advice too, then i realized the mechanics for new horizons is somewhat different. the villager who will move out for the 15 allotted days isn't even pre-determined, there's no even allotted days anymore tbh it's just random, and they can't move out without asking.

someone should try tho lol.
