can villagers place their plot here?

ive been resetting for sheps plot all day but he wont place his plot on one of those blue squares so im just wondering if its even possible?

I don't think he can place his plot in any of those spots. They all interfere with the buffer zones of the other villagers' houses, so I think you'll have to settle with another spot in town, unfortunately.

I believe you need atleast 2 spaced in between each villager house.
