Can villager move WITHOUT pinging you?!

So EVERYDAY I check for villager pings so I can keep my villagers in my town. Now I worried someone is going to move and not ping me. Do they ping you EVERY time they want to move?

No they don't, but other villagers will tell you if they are thinking about it.

Sometimes. If you haven't played for a while they can move without pinging you, or if you can't catch them outside during the few days before they move.

They can leave without pinging you. You should talk to everyone to make sure they are on speaking terms with you since they won't ping if you haven't talked to them in at least a week. You can also repeatedly talk to villagers and one might mention a moving rumor about another villager. If that happens, save and quit and reload your game and quickly find the villager who is thinking about moving and (s)he should ping you.

If you never see them or talk to them, sometimes they will move without pinging (because they never had a chance to)

If you don't talk to a villager for a while they can move without pinging. Basically load up your game and talk to every single villager. Save, and then restart the game and if someone wants to move they will ping you then.

If you talk to them regularly and hunt down that move ping you'll always get it. There are certain ways you can tell if someone is moving because villagers will talk about other rumors and stuff if no one is moving, but if you pick a couple villagers to spam talk to every few days at some point villagers will mention if someone is planning on moving. But it is possible to miss the ping and have them randomly in boxes one day. You just have to be cautious. I made a guide on how to prevent that though.

I usually get the ping without trying, but I also make note of the rumor dialogue and talk to my animals often. If you're really paranoid, you can save and quit to enable more pings :3

A cool thing to note is you'll get "village rumors" from animals. Jocks will tell you to spread rumors about a new record. Cranks will mention rumors get bigger and bigger. Snooty and normal both say they would rather see subjects of gossip before believing it. Smugs say stuff about themselves and other villagers. I forget uchis and lazies, but they're fairly obvious. Peppies are the easiest to recognize. They literally beg you for gossip.

If you're seeing those lines from multiple villagers as you chat, you don't have a mover :3

So you mean that if I talk to ALL my villagers everyday they will ALWAYS ping me? I know about rumors about villagers leaving.
