Can someone confirm this for me? ( Regarding time traveling)

I recently started all over due to losing my copy of AC:NL which was a real bummer. When talking to Rover as I made my mayor, I made the date March 12th 2014 to keep my original starting date. Anyway, I NEED to get back to the present. I looked online for information on how someone would go about doing this and, well...

Here's the point:

I found a couple sources saying that if you time travel the day you confirm someone leaving (when they ping you) you can time travel as far as you want forward with ONLY that villager having left. Now I felt brave and when Walt decided to move out, I used this method to go forward 20 days and it worked! He's gone and everyone else is still here. Yay. That was a mere 20 days though. Can I do this to come back to present day? From April 15th back to November 12th?

I understand your question, but I am afraid I cannot confirm it. I've heard multiple TT suggestions like this, but I've never tried it out.

Maybe one of the cyclers will know or can try it out for you! Good luck!

Yeah, you can do that. It only tags a single villager at a time, so if you confirm somebody is moving out and time travel forwards any amount of time, only that villager will leave.
It also works if you stop a villager from moving. After telling them to stay you just save and quit, time travel however many days/weeks/months/years you want in one go and nobody will move.

Do note it always has to be done straight. So if you find another villager wanting to move on the current in-game date, you have to go straight to November 12th in order to just have that changing. Making stops in between will tag other villagers.

I don't know if it works when you tell a villager to leave. I know that a similar method works, which is denying someone's request to leave and then time travelling forward as much as you want because nobody will move out.
