can perfect fruits grouped in a basket go rotten?

i know a single perfect fruit placed on the ground for a period of time will go rotten, but what about fruits grouped in a basket?

No. My Joy town has perfect and regular fruit baskets on the ground for decoration. They've been there for over two years. They haven't rotted. I also have them in my locker.

nope. only way to get rotten fruit is when a perfect fruit tree dies :>
