I think your island is a great beginner island that shows a lot of promise. There are some generally over played themes but to each their own.
Let us start with the entrance, It was very nicely made that you had the arrangement and placement in front of Nook's, but I believe you should make a a tad bit bigger and move it infront of the dodo port path.
I do like the terraforming works you did throughout the island, they are kind of bare but with more decorating they should really pop out; if not it just looks like you made of the the same design. I do like the brick designed bridge you chose, it definitely goes with the tiles you placed.
You do have ALOT of relaxing spots which is good, but I would suggest adding a little but more to them. Look in your catalog for something that compliments the area like you did with the Painting and placing the artist set in front of it to give that illusion someone was working on it.
Your villager area/district is a little crampped but that is ok, maybe you wanted to focus on the island a bit more, totally understand. I would suggest give each house there own individual plant and color because it does look a bit uniform with each aisle having the same plant. But maybe your just going for a bungalow look in which just ignore me.
Now your house I would saw if your biggest attraction. It is very well made and feels like a home, but kind of feels like 2 different apartments. For example your bedroom feels and looks like a high rise apartment, and I feel it would be better on the second floor. Your living, bathroom, and kitchen are perfect. Your arcade basement is an awesome idea, you just need a little more on the bare walls like possibly a throwback wall clock.
The layout of your island is good, I like the path way with the waterfalls leading to Jolly Redd, and I like the whole idea of artwork throughout the island. Especially the tall naked dude with flowers leading to the cafe/bistro. I would recommend put something similar to a small table or antique mini table in there so your record player is visible and not on the ground.
You definitely have alot of beach area to work with, and I know you will definitely have some creative themes for it later on. I do like on the SW beach with the floral showers next to the changing room. I may suggest getting a custom panel and flush them together so the changing one doesn't stick out are possible add another changing room next to it.
It's a very solid island and I would give it a 6 out of 10. It definitely shows a lot of promise. I do love the fact that you with with mixed trees in areas versus the typical orchards or long rows of the same. I cant wait to see your progress!
