Can Multiple People Get a Character in Boxes?

I hadn't really thought about it, but if you have a character in boxes, a person can come in, get that character, then time travel forward and have that character in his or her town.

But the villager is still in boxes in the original town. Can another person come in and get that same villager to move to his or her​ town?

Never checked this before, but tried to go into her home and she had a sign that said, "Moved out."

So...that answers that!

If you're in the house, the visitor adopts them in your town, then they leave throu the gate, you'll be in that animals' house without them there XD It's funny, I've done it a few times already.

lol, what? i've never experienced this before but i definitely want to now! animal crossing has funny little details like that which you only find out about 6 years later, wow.

yeah, no. once a player adopts and leaves, the game saves that the villager was adopted for both parties

and if the villager gets adopt and then the adoptee gets booted out without saving, then nothing happens. since the villager being adopted wasn't registered, so the villager in question can still be adopted by anyone until they move out

once any single person adopts and the game saves it though, then that's that


and never tried with multiple people in the town, but I'd imagine after the first person, nobody else would get any "come to my town" dialogue options for while the villager in boxes was still there

Wow I never knew that! I don't want any of my villagers to move though. Maybe I can find something like that on the internet.
