the thing about golden tools is that they usually take forever to get anyway. They're a lot like a token in ways. And they use golden nuggets, the rarest crafting material, to make -so why did Nintendo decide it'd be ok to let those break too? it's stupid, imo

The fact that tools break is such an annoyance. I went back and played New Leaf while I was camping a couple of weeks ago and really appreciated that my tools stayed intact (aside from non-golden axes of course). I don't really understand why that was a feature added in New Horizons.

I hate that tools break too. In a way it fits their brand, yeah, but it's mostly annoying and repetitive.

If y'all think it's bad in ACNH then you must really suffer if you play BotW for when your sword or shield breaks during a fight. I agree a warning that it is damaged might be nice but it costs one customization kit to reset the durability back to 0. Rule of thumb is if you're going to be digging a lot then customize it every inventory or so. I do trees with my ax in batches of 5 to keep track since I'm shaking them with my net out anyway to catch any wasps. It's annoying, yes, but there are easy ways to work around it.

Getting unbreakable tools should be a reward for breaking and crafting so many tools. The golden tools are too expensive to make considering they break.

Yeah breaking tools is annoying in BoTW. In fact I don't think anyone actually likes this feature.
So why bring an unliked feature to a more relaxing game like AC?? Nobody complained about unbreakable tools in previous games...and I see loads of complaints about it in BoTW and now ACNH. Just kinda illogical really. Yeah, it fits the crafting aspect, but did they not think how tedious it would be after a month? And the gold tools breaking is just stupid.

I dont really craft new ones since i prefer some of the versions nook cranny sells. The only thing i still craft is axes and fishing rods. I feel a little annoyed when they break because i could have avoided that by using kits but i am too lazy sometimes and i dont know if it is too soon to use the kit or not because i dont keep track. I dont mind that they break actually, i just wish you could see how many uses they have before they do.

Trust me, I agree with this. It is annoying. But it's something Nintendo is starting to place in more and more games. So it's easier to just...Find the easiest work around and don't let it ruin your experience.

I love BOTW, and the thing about breaking weapons and sheilds is easy enough if you can find one with a lot of durability. In ACNH, tho, there's literally only three options for durability.
Oh, and in BOTW, you had special inventory slots just for weapons, which made it easier to stock-pile.

Yeah at this point I just go to Nook's cranny and buy like three fishing rods if I'm going to do fishing, then I sell whatever left at the end :/

I do wish there was an achievement where you earn unbreakable tools. I've found myself actually starting to avoid certain things just because I got so tired of all my tools breaking and having to craft 2 things just to continue what I was doing. I haven't fished in weeks. I've been avoiding clearing my flowers because the thought of having to recraft the shovel so many times and then continually build axes to chop wood for them is just... blahhhh.

I don't know, I can take animal crossing "slow" without having to be interrupted just to whip out a DIY bench and craft a shovel then another shovel

i find it annoying that all the tools break so quickly, even the golden ones (which shouldn't happen like in new leaf)... at this point i'm considering not wasting my golden nuggets on golden tools, especially the watering can.

They should just make golden tools not break and be done with it. The axe has always broke in every Animal Crossing game. That was until you got the golden axe. They just don't make them like they used to.

I’ve been using the same colorful net and elephant watering can forEVA. Just customize them once a day when you’re using them like regular usage and then if you know you’re about to go dig up every flower on your island or do the bug catching contest or whatever, try to keep track of each flower/bug/fish and customize them around every 30 uses

Yeah i don't like it as well, but if I continue to customize my tools, I won't get any nook miles since I haven't complete it. I'm just going to use my golden watering can for my roses only so I don't broke it so quickly

I said this in another thread, but it be great that after you completed the nook miles achievement for trashed tools, you’d be able to learn how to make them unbreakable
