Can I do the villager reset trick without spoiling my turnips?

Just as the title says, I just bought a Dreamie and I want to do the villager reset trick to place his house somewhere nice tomorrow AM, but I have turnips, won't they spoil if I try it? Can I do it?

Well it is possible
if you asked the villager to move in today
then save and quit before 6 am tomorrow
then tomorrow when you go to play,
just start a new character

Turnips don't spoil if you go forward (because the game doesn't know if it's just time passing or if you actually TTed), but if you go back to a time you've already played they will.

They could spoil if you TT back in time, yes.
